Top 5 Wedding Venues in York Region

Are you looking for a wedding venue just north of Toronto? Maybe something more outside the typical banquet hall vibe? York Region is host to a huge number of wedding venues within a 30-45 minute drive north of the city.

Here are the top 5 wedding venues that we love in York Region.

The Doctor’s House
Location: Kleinburg, ON

Located in the sweet quaint historic village of Kleinburg, The Doctor’s House is known for its beautiful and precious white chapel. There are many picturesque moments to be had on the manicured grounds of the Doctor’s House, with the chapel in the background or down and around the village streets.

Other reasons why we love the Doctor’s House:

  • It’s clean, bright & wedding ready

  • If you’re someone that appreciates aesthetically pleasing visuals, this is the place for you!

  • Easy load in & load out areas for vendors

  • Staff is friendly and accessible for questions

Hot Tip: Try to get street parking to avoid paying the parking fee in their parking lot

Madison’s Greenhouse
Location: Newmarket, ON

Just as the name suggests, Madison’s Greenhouse is in fact, a greenhouse. What once operated decades ago as a garden center that grew house plants was eventually turned into a wedding venue by the original owners “The Madsens.” With a lot of care and planning, the original owners planted and created a beautiful indoor tropical ambiance with gorgeous live vines and plants that drape the ceilings of both the chapel and reception area.

Other reasons why we love Madison’s Greenhouse:

  • “One stop shop”, meaning most couples do their ceremony and reception onsite

  • Indoor and Outdoor options: you can have your ceremony inside the greenhouse chapel or outside by a garden gazebo (the same goes for your cocktail hour with two locations)

  • Stunning live greenery that surrounds you and your guests

Hot Tip: And this is literally a hot tip. Book your wedding in either the spring or fall for a more pleasant temperature. It is a greenhouse afterall!

Holland Marsh Wineries
Location: Holland Marsh, ON

Holland Marsh Wineries is not just a wedding venue, it is of course also a fully functioning winery where you can get a tour and tasting! This family owned business has transitioned over the years to include a beautifully designed reception space that almost feels like you’re inside a barn. With a variety of outdoor ceremony options (our favorite is in front of the swaying birch trees) and lovely grounds for your guests to mingle about, it’s a gem of a place in an unsuspecting area.

Other reasons why we love Holland Marsh Wineries:

  • The outdoor stone fireplace with the option to have a marshmallow roast

  • Sparkly string lights inside

  • Phenomenal events team to make your day seamless

  • The WINE of course!

  • Gorgeous in every season!

Hot Tip: Book yourself a fun tour and tasting with your fiancé and some friends. On the weekends they have stone oven pizza available!

EVENT MRKT
Location: Newmarket, ON

If you're looking for a fun and intimate location to host your smaller sized wedding, EVENT MRKT should be on your list to check out! Located in the cozy downtown of Newmarket, this venue sits atop the river that flows out of Fairy Lake. It has a modern/boho vibe featuring a whitewashed brick wall, hanging plants and ratan lighting. “It’s a vibe” as they say!

Other reasons why we love EVENT MRKT:

  • A large outdoor veranda for your guest to mingle on that hang over the river

  • Food made in house

  • Great photo opportunities around downtown Newmarket

Hot Tip: Hire a local photographer that knows the downtown and Fairy Lake area so you can get photos in the best areas.

The Manor (by Peter & Pauls)
Location: Kettleby, ON

Easily accessible, just off HWY 400, The Manor sits amidst rolling hills in the country and  manicured lawns of the golf course. While the Manor has more of a banquet hall vibe, the fact that it’s in the country and has a tented ceremony area that overlooks the pond, changes that initial perception. It has two x-large reception rooms to fit large weddings, and a smaller hall on the upper level.

Other reasons why we love The Manor:

  • Accommodates large and small weddings easily (adequate parking and space for guests)

  • The pond, gazebo and trickling stone waterfall feature

  • Vaulted chandelier ceilings

Hot Tip: WEDDING FIREWORKS! This venue offers the option to add fireworks to your package. Go out with a bang for you and your guests!
